PLACING OF ALL FRONT PIECES OF SUNDRESS ON CLOTH(016)

We are now done with all the pattern pieces of our sun dress it is now time to place our pattern
pieces on our cloth or material  and we are ready to cut our material. From the video illustration ,the pieces of the front part of our sundress are placed in such a way that the disjointed lines on the pattern are aligned on the folded part of the cloth. That will not require cutting. Pin your front part pieces on the cloth and using your tailors chalk, trace the patterns on the cloth giving about half an inch space for your sewing. Watch the video very carefully and do your cutting. HAPPY CUTTING.

CUTTING OF THE OVERLAY OF OUR SUNDRESS(015)

We are going to be cutting the overlay for our
sundress in todays posting .Once again as in cutting of the sleeves ,we don't need to do any tracing but just use the metric tape to measure two measurements as illustrated in our pattern
This is quite simple .
Using the normal end of the metric tape ,measure  40cm by 75cm and translate all the alphabets from photocopied pattern to our enlarged pattern. Follow me as I illustrate in the video. HAPPY CUTTING

CUTTING OF THE SLEEVES OF OUR SUNDRESS

We are done with the cutting of all the pieces that make up the bodies of our sundress it is now time to cut the sleeves .from the  pattern we can see that cutting of the pattern for the sleeves is about the easiest of what we have done so far, As you may have noticed ,with the sleeves there is no cross to affix our tape and pin. We are only given measurements to follow. And map out on our pattern paper taking note of the fact that one half of the pattern that will serve as the sleeve is shaded  meaning that it will serve as the facing for the sleeve. Please watch the video to get a better understanding of what I have written. HAPPY CUTTING

TRANSLATING ALL THE DETAILS ONTO THE BACK PEICE OF OUR SUNDRES

In this posting we will translate all the details we see on our cut pattern to the enlarged pattern. We will start with marking where the back facing is going to appear. We then draw the darts .Take note of the straight lines under the breast and the disjointed lines at the waist in order to know exactly where we will be cutting our cloth. Also mark the length of where the zip will be .Finally transfer all the alphabets from the pattern to our enlarged pattern. HAPPY CUTTING
